Nvidia-Glx With Paldo 1.24 | |

I love lightweight desktop and so far this is the fastest Gnome distro I have ever used on Gnome 2.32. Today I downloaded Paldo 1.24 and installed it to my external hard drive.
My Specs Are:
Intel pentium 4 2.50Ghz Processor
1GB Ram
NVIDIA 5200FX 25MB Graphic card
110GB HDD
So I was reading on the forums on how to install the nvidia driver and I did: "upkg-install nvidia-glx" and it wanted to install it so then in terminal I did: "nvidia-settings" and wrote a new /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. I rebooted my PC and it booted into the non-graphical Terminal. I could not boot into the GDM or anything. So, does the latest Nvidia driver you guys provide not work with Paldo 1.24 yet? Does it not support my Nvidia card?

It will look like this (+/-):
kernel /boot/linux-2.6.35.8-paldo1-x86_64 root=/dev/sda1 nouveau.modeset=0
Reboot, and you'll be ok. |

So, I install the Nvidia-Glx package, then I edit the menu.lst file and then restart?
-Thanks

1 - install nvidia
2 - write the new /etc/X11/xorg.conf file
3 - fix the menu.lst as I mentioned above |

This is verry odd... I did this on a new fresh install and I did everything in the order you told me and when I boot it up, it gets stuck at booting. Maybe I could do a fresh install again and give you my menu.let file? Again, my card is the nvidia 5200fx 256mb.
-thanks

the package nvidia-glx installs nvidia driver 260.19.21.
But this version doesn't support your Graphic card.
you need to manual install 173.14.28 or live
with the nouveau-driver (Ok, i know this will be a flickering experience)
For more info about your card see

Buy yourself a copy and live in peace!!
