Junior Mitglied Posts: 8 Registered: 2010-02-25 | I would like to use dynamic clocks for my ati radeon x1200 card, but first I need to setup CONFIG_FB_RADEON. I don't know even where to start!  Do I need to recompile the kernel or what?? Please help! |

Administrator Posts: 426 Registered: 2004-09-09 | If you want to use radeonfb, you need to recompile the kernel, yes. However, I don't recommend this if you're not familiar with the process. There are lots of details you need to get right.
2.6.33 is expected to enter testing in a few days and it has initial power management support for radeon chips without requiring the radeonfb module. I don't know to what extent it's already supported, but it might be worth a try before recompiling the kernel and moving to radeonfb. |
