Mahlzeit!

Since upgrade to paldo 1.21 stable i can't anymore mounting windows-shares through
nautilus or using places->connection to server.

No Option to handle window-shares

Could someone explain!

I had the same problem just a couple of days ago, after a fresh install of the x86-64 testing, and though it was some temp issue due to be a testing version, although I've been using Paldo testing for many months without problems. So I waited until a new testing iso become available to download, reinstalled these one and found the problem had been fixed.

I've had the same problem since doing a routine upgrade of my long term testing branch install a couple of months ago. Did you have to clean install?

My previous post was more in the sense to provide you the information that the problem also happened to someone else, in order for you to know that it might not have resulted from any eventual configuration or change that you could have done specifically in your system.

I believe there must be some solution other than a clean install, although I'm sorry that I can't help you further.

Hi you all, I think that since 1.21 the default configuration file for the samba service is set to FALSE. please take a look at /etc/default/* files to see if samba is not turned off.

don't work!

Nevertheless a mounting of SMB-share through cli with mount -t cifs works.

I think it's more a think of updating Gnome to 2.28.4

Checked with an older Live-CD of Paldo (build of 23.10.09) after finding a hint in an fedora-forum.

the paldo gvfs-package lost it's smb-support

on the mentioned live-cd there exists

/usr/lib/gvfsd-smb and
/usr/lib/gvfsd-smb-browse

and some other, i think, configs for the above files.


So, Paldo-Maintainers, could you please add this!!

You are right... on the spec for the gvfs package (http://www.paldo.org/paldo/specs/gvfs.xml) We can see that the line for configure explicit the --disable-samba as a option there for it is not enabled by default... The reason for it I don't know, but changing to --enable-samba and adding samba as a dependency might fix your problem.
