Two are no-name desktop PCs with 64MB nv video cards from 2001/2 era, the last a ThinkPad R51 with Intel grfx, 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device. Live CD boots on all 3, the good news. The rather bad news is that when I try to run OpenOffice writer and calc, the system seems to get as far as running soffice.bin, then hangs. The gui freezes, and attempts to switch to an alternative text console fail. I think the mouse cursor still moves, but clicks go nowhere. Anyone else encountered this? I never had any similar problems with paldo previously using the live cd versions. I found no problem with any other application. Display of processes in top appears to freeze as gui becomes inoperable. All machines are known to be capable of running OO. So ??? |

I withdraw my rude remarks, guess it just seemed that nobody cared :-(
