OpenOffice Writer and JRE | |

Not only does Writer not recognize an installed JRE; I have tried hand-specifying every reasonable-looking path in the directory tree /usr/lib/jdk/jre etc., and none are accepted by the Options>Java dialogue in Writer
Can someone tell what, if anything, am I missing here? .............................. "Of all the animals, boys are the most unruly."
