Found a bug that concerns Blender,

Blender Build (stable) is not able to open a file from the command line, it means that if you have a blend file and click twice on nautilus, it starts blender but with the default scene.

I thought it were mime-type problem, but then I tried to do through command line a blender -w test.blend and it turns out that blender opened with the default .B.blend file instead of the test.blend one.

Even though it doesn't work from outside, blender does work correctly and opens it files using its inside open file option ( F1 ) .

The problem only concerns the /usr/bin/blender file, which bytheway is a wrap bash script created by Amnon.

Which means that the script is wrong somewhere ( didn't inspect it yet )

OK, found the problem on the script:

Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
#!/bin/sh
# wrapper-script by Amnon82 - v1.2

# check if ~/.blender dir exists
if [ -f ~/.blender/scripts/scripts-$VERSION-$REVISION.installed ] ; then
#if yes run blender direct
echo start blender directly
blender-bin
else
#else create folder and copy the scripts to users home-dir
echo copying scripts to home dir
mkdir -p ~/.blender/scripts
#remove any existing previous scripts
rm -rf ~/.blender/scripts/*
#coping new scripts
cp -a /usr/lib/blender/scripts/* ~/.blender/scripts
echo "blender scripts of blender-$VERSION-$REVISION installed" >> ~/.blender/scripts/scripts-$VERSION-$REVISION.installed
echo start blender
blender-bin
fi

The script checks if the folder ~/.blender exists, if it does or does not at the end the script calls the blender , but the script forgets to parse the arguments to blender so the problem is that if I want blender on fullscreen ( which would be blender -W ) the script won't pass the -W and you will always get blender on window mode, not to say that this script won't help people who wants to render in the background.

This can easily be fixed by adding $1 to the blender calling line so the correct script would be:

Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
#!/bin/sh
# wrapper-script by Amnon82 - v1.2

# check if ~/.blender dir exists
if [ -f ~/.blender/scripts/scripts-$VERSION-$REVISION.installed ] ; then
#if yes run blender direct
echo start blender directly
blender-bin $1
else
#else create folder and copy the scripts to users home-dir
echo copying scripts to home dir
mkdir -p ~/.blender/scripts
#remove any existing previous scripts
rm -rf ~/.blender/scripts/*
#coping new scripts
cp -a /usr/lib/blender/scripts/* ~/.blender/scripts
echo "blender scripts of blender-$VERSION-$REVISION installed" >> ~/.blender/scripts/scripts-$VERSION-$REVISION.installed
echo start blender
blender-bin $1
fi

Please get it fixed on the specs

oh; yes - you're right... I never tried to doubleclick .blend-files in nautilus
