Sorry for all of my questions … I just have a new problem: I cannot mount any music CDs. DVDs work but when I put in a CD, I get the following error message:
Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
Einhängen von Audio-CD nicht möglich

That means that it is not possible to mount music/audio CDs. And it is not just one music CD that does not work! When I want to mount the music CD on the command line, I get the following error message:
Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
[root@paldo-laptop:/home/debianux]# mount /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom -t iso9660

mount: blockorientiertes Gerät /dev/sr0 ist schreibgeschützt, wird eingehängt im Nur-Lese-Modus

mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sr0,

missing codepage or helper program, or other error

Manchmal liefert das Syslog wertvolle Informationen – versuchen

Sie dmesg | tail oder so

In English:
mount: blocked device /dev/sr0 is write-protected, mounting in read-only mode
[…]
Sometimes syslog provides useful informations – try dmesg | tail or something like that

dmesg | tail gives this error message:
Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
[root@paldo-laptop:/home/debianuxl]# dmesg | tail

Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 2

Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 3

end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 0

Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 0

end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 64

isofs_fill_super: bread failed, dev=sr0, iso_blknum=16, block=16

end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 64

isofs_fill_super: bread failed, dev=sr0, iso_blknum=16, block=16

end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 64

isofs_fill_super: bread failed, dev=sr0, iso_blknum=16, block=16

Unfortunately I cannot view syslog in with gnome-system-log because it crashes. But it worked with gedit:
Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
Nov 23 20:28:54 paldo-laptop kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 0

Audio CDs don't have a filesystem, it's impossible to mount them. If you start "Rhythmbox Music Player", you should be able to play them, though.

Thank you, with Rhythmbox it works, but it still does not work with Totem (with Debian GNU/Linux it works there). And why does I get this error message while inserting the audio CD?

what do you mean by that? be more specific. seems you mean we lost a feature which detects audio-cds or what? btw. 1.16 isn't released. those are only release candidates if we call them so ...

That means that when I put in a audio CD I get this error message and I have to start Rhythmbox manually. E. g.: gnome-system-monitor tells me that I use »paldo version 1.16 (stable)« (tab »system«).

I get this error too and also I've paldo 1.16 cos we prepared the release and moved all testing to stable. Still there are some issues before we can release 1.16 to the public. When we find it we will fix it ...
