I thought I could figure this out - I can't.
On my synaptics touchpad (dell inspiron 6400) I want to disable tapping. Everytime I touch the pad, the cursor jumps. Up to now, it was sufficient to insert the following into xorg.conf:

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Synaptics Touchpad"
Driver "synaptics"
Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
Option "Protocol" "auto-dev"
Option "MaxTapTime" "0"
Option "HorizEdgeScroll" "0"
EndSection

But this doesn't work. It has no effect at all. What can I do?

thanks for any help,

erch

Seems the device has a different name or so. Do a lspci or lsusb. Sometimes the dev/input has a different name ... I've atm no solution. Maybe Jürg has one ...

Hmnmnm. I did lspci and lsusb, but that output does not help me...which is a pity, because tapping on I just can't work. I write a line and Oops the curse-or is somewhere else.

Here is the output, perhaps it tells you something:
