I currently installed paldo testing x86_64 from CD, and I have this problem now: upkg-build and upkg-install say that all the software from the repos is installed, although it is not. Any idea how to fix this?
EDIT: not all, actually. it happened for skype and wine, but not with amule and firefox...

Hi dichev, this is not a problem... paldo 64 bits is a pure 64 bit linux distribution, and skype haven't made a 64 bit of its version so not all the packages are avalaible for the x86_64

If you really need skype and other 32bit only programs I advise you to install paldo 32 bit instead

oh, thanks. I didn't think of that side of things...the way it happened to some apps made me think it's a bug... does that mean that wine doesn't wrk on x86_64?!

well dichev... wine works only on 32 bit to emulate 32 bit programs of windows so we have to keep waiting for wine and skype to get ahead with their code...

other program is the flash but swfdec-mozilla is working fine for me for example

Seems we have to create a better "error"-message for upkg in 64bit. Some packages are only 32-bit only. A "Sorry, can't install this package, cos 32-bit only" will help a lot. Jürg, what do you think?
