About the package

The buzztard project aims to provide a modular, free, open source music studio that is conceptionally based on the Windows only and closed source software Buzz. The Buzz software is not really further developed, as the main developer has lost his source code. The buzztard project itself has no direct link to Buzz (apart from its concepts that we build upon). We don't want to make buzztard a 1:1 Buzz copy. In comparison to Buzz, we hope that our software will improve in usability and features in the future. To allow migration for Buzz users, we are providing song-file import and buzz-machine reuse.

Features and functionality are added in small development cycles (see Roadmap for the current planning and Status for what we achieved already).

Head-Maintainer of the package

Marc Broekhuis

Build problems at paldo

Buzztard has troubles to get build on our server. It seems it gets build fine from source on your local machine. We tagged it as x86_64 for the moment to get other packages build on x86. I'm also looking at this spec-files to fix the problem. Since it is a svn-version such things can happen. We'll keep you on news whats going on with this program.

  • buzztard-svn1964-1 (testing): to force build-order I joined the specs of previous rls and updated buzztard to latest svn-checkout
  • paldo-desktop-multimedia-extra: removed x86_64 tag for buzztard
  • removed unneeded buzztard-xml files from repo-svn

  • paldo-desktop-multimedia-extra: re-tag buzztard as x86_64 only
  • buzztard-svn1964-1 (testing): tagging all packages as x86_64 to keep the build server running. Build-Log from the build-server can be found here:

    http://paldo.org/~amnon/logs/buzztard-svn1964-build-log-paldo-build-server6908-0015

Maybe we find a solution for this package later.

    Build news of last night:

    buzztard-gst svn1964-1 x86 (glibc-2.8-gcc-4.3-1) 8 hours ago
    buzztard-buzzmachines svn1964-1 x86 (glibc-2.8-gcc-4.3-1) 8 hours ago
    buzztard-bml svn1964-1 x86 (glibc-2.8-gcc-4.3-1) 8 hours ago
    buzztard-bsl svn1964-1 x86_64 (glibc-2.8-gcc-4.3-1) 9 hours ago
    buzztard-core svn1964-1 x86_64 (glibc-2.8-gcc-4.3-1) 9 hours ago
    buzztard-gst svn1964-1 x86_64 (glibc-2.8-gcc-4.3-1) 9 hours ago
    buzztard-buzzmachines svn1964-1 x86_64 (glibc-2.8-gcc-4.3-1) 9 hours ago
    buzztard-bml svn1964-1 x86_64 (glibc-2.8-gcc-4.3-1) 9 hours ago

In x86_64 all fine, but buzztard-core has build-troubles in x86. Building this packages locally is fine. Seems the package buzztard-gst creates troubles.

This might be the source of it:

    Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]

    Please either:
    - remove it and restart.
    - run with --gst-disable-segtrap and debug.
