I translated Wombels post at M2D-Forum to english. I don't found a solution for him. He's using vesa driver. Maybe we can solve it here ...

Post by wombel:

Morning,

after a build-in of a new HDD I installed Paldo-m2d (Version 25-11-2007) new.
Now I've the same resolution problem I solved already!

I can't change it (xorg.conf) anymore. After a tryout I'm again in gdm with the same resolution I had!

I failed to mod xorg.conf this way:

Zitat
Original von juergbi
... the best thing will be to enter the right resolution into the xorg.conf file:

Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "Card0"
Monitor "Monitor0"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1280x1024"
EndSubSection
EndSection

After reboot no X-server was found !!!

I restored the original xorg.conf after that ...
Can somebody help me out here? :hm:

You have to remove the invalid Monitor line from the quoted Screen section. I've also responded in the M2D-Forum.
