Paldo uses UTC as systemtime. You can change this with this code in a terminal:

Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
sudo sed -i -e 's%HWCLOCK_UTC=1%HWCLOCK_UTC=0%' /etc/default/time

@juergbi: I think it should be get standard for paldo NOT using UTC, what do you think?

No, I'd like to keep the hardware clock in UTC as default as it's the only sane setting and I don't want it to break on correctly configured systems. Localtime support is for Windows compatibility only.

Good to know. So we keep it that way.

Why? Does _everyone_ live near Greenwich? %)

The system time is always in UTC in Linux but that's not a problem as users don't see the UTC system time in the user interface, they only see the time in the configured time zone. The topic here is how to store and load the system time at shutdown resp. startup to/from the hardware clock. The issue is that Windows can't deal with UTC hardware clock but that's the only sane setting regarding for example daylight time saving change with multiple systems.

Hi, I'm brand new to Paldo and pretty new to Linux. Really like Paldo; you're doing a great job! Right, onto my question - my clock is wrong and I am seemingly unable to correct it. During the install I did not have the option to configure my local time zone (New Zealand)... the closest I could get was Melbourne, Australia. Any suggestions would be welcome. Cheers

Hi,

the following command should help:

Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
sudo cp /usr/share/zoneinfo/NZ /etc/localtime
