At www.pro-linux.de you can read an article about "Skype for Linux".
It seems it reads out the file /etc/passwd and your browser profiles.

I used strace with this cmd:

Code	[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
strace -v -i -s 9999 -f /usr/bin/skype 2> skype-strace.log

I didn't found a line including /etc/passwd, even nothing with mozilla in it.

Actual we have Skype-1.4.0.74-1 in the main-repo. Seems higher versions have this problem.

Does somebody here noticed it otherwise?
