I build some packages to change the default gtk-theme but I don't get it to work.
I can only preview it with the tool switch, but can't apply it in general.

Here are the packages:

http://paldo.org/~amnon/repo/specs/gtk-smooth-engine.xml
http://paldo.org/~amnon/repo/specs/smooth-themes.xml
http://paldo.org/~amnon/repo/specs/gtk-theme-switch.xml

And some screenshots:

This will help us to display the paldoinstaller in x86_64 in a nicer theme cos gtk2 is still broken in pascal on this arch.

That certainly looks a lot nicer than the default Gtk+ 1 theme but I hope that the Gtk+ 2 issues can be resolved.

I don't know the theme system of Gtk+ 1 but you might want to look at ~/.gtkrc.mine

seems I had to restart the system. Now it works. Contents of ~/.gtkrc

Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
# -- THEME AUTO-WRITTEN DO NOT EDIT
include "/usr/share/themes/Smooth-Winter/gtk/gtkrc"

include "/home/amnon/.gtkrc.mine"

# -- THEME AUTO-WRITTEN DO NOT EDIT
