Seems other distros did this solution:

They add -qt4 to all new binaries. Seems I've to backup the old qt-3 ones first and restore them later after renaming the qt-4 ones.

Take a look on the files-list

And here my files list. Also the qt-3.files.

I'll take a closer look into it on sunday.

Has someone a simple solution to backup/rename the bins?

I think I've to do it file by file ...

QT-4

Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
- /usr/bin/assistant
- /usr/bin/assistant.debug
- /usr/bin/designer
- /usr/bin/designer.debug
- /usr/bin/linguist
- /usr/bin/linguist.debug
- /usr/bin/lrelease
- /usr/bin/lrelease.debug
- /usr/bin/lupdate
- /usr/bin/lupdate.debug
- /usr/bin/moc
- /usr/bin/moc.debug
- /usr/bin/pixeltool
- /usr/bin/pixeltool.debug
- /usr/bin/qdbus
- /usr/bin/qdbuscpp2xml
- /usr/bin/qdbuscpp2xml.debug
- /usr/bin/qdbus.debug
- /usr/bin/qdbusxml2cpp
- /usr/bin/qdbusxml2cpp.debug
- /usr/bin/qmake
- /usr/bin/qt3to4
- /usr/bin/qt3to4.debug
- /usr/bin/qtconfig
- /usr/bin/qtconfig.debug
- /usr/bin/qtdemo
- /usr/bin/qtdemo.debug
- /usr/bin/rcc
- /usr/bin/rcc.debug
- /usr/bin/uic
- /usr/bin/uic3
- /usr/bin/uic3.debug
- /usr/bin/uic.debug

QT-3:

Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
- /usr/bin/assistant
- /usr/bin/designer
- /usr/bin/linguist
- /usr/bin/lrelease
- /usr/bin/lupdate
- /usr/bin/moc
- /usr/bin/qm2ts
- /usr/bin/qmake
- /usr/bin/qtconfig
- /usr/bin/uic

I did this spec but I'm think it is not proper. Is there a better way to backup qt-3 binaries when they exits and restoring them? Also the export-cmds are confusing.

When I call them, qt-3 wont work anymore.

I created some scripts. Will test it and release qt-4 soon.

The best solution would be to just configure the build system to add the suffix, e.g. something like ./configure --program-suffix=-qt4, if that's supported. It probably isn't, though, as at least the build system of qt3 is in a really bad shape.

I finally created a qt-4 package.

Here the spec:

qt-4.xml

The files:

qt-scripts-20070304.tar.bz2
qtrc-20070225
qt-x11-opensource-src-4.2.2.tar.gz

I renamed the double bins (exp. qmake to qmake-qt3 and qmake-qt4).
When you need qt-3 run qt-3-link and qt-3-variables.
For qt-4 will is it qt-4-link and qt-4-variables.

The problems:

I must run the scripts before I can compile smplayer which needs qt-3 for example. UPKG stores QTDIR somehow and you can't run the scripts in a UPKG-run for changing it.

So installing smplayer will be:

Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
su
password: enter your root pw
qt-3-link
qt-3-variables
upkg-build smplayer

does anyone has a better solution for it?

If there will be a qt-3 update my solution of linking won't work.
