Some Users of Paldo, like me, don't use the default kernel-settings in menu.lst.
On every kernel-upgrade I've to edit menu.lst to add "nodmraid resume=/dev/sda6" to the kernel line.

Is it possible to copy the settings form the older kernel to the new kernel that will be added to menu.lst?

You just have to edit the template in /etc/default/grub
