So I tried to open a man page and got a blank page

The man command is trying to use /usr/bin/gtbl for translating the files into human readable.

The problem is this command doesn't exist. The case is gtbl is the same as tbl so it needs to make a symlink /usr/bin/gtbl to /usr/bin/tbl.

The package responsible for this file is groff . So please add the command: ln -s /usr/bin/tbl /usr/bin/gtbl to the package spec.

Man pages are working fine here without that link. Did this only happen for some specific man pages or for all on your system?

I happens on all my man pages the only line that appears on the screen is:

"sh: /usr/bin/gtbl: No such file or directory
lines ?-?/? (END) "

Also most of the man pages gives error because:

"No manual entry for nm-applet"

But that's another case. For now it gives me error on every man page that exists.

But now I took a look at /etc/man.conf

and seeing the file I see that there is the line:

Code[In neuem Fenster öffnen]
TBL /usr/bin/gtbl

Changing this line changes the tbl source so no link is needed. So maybe changing man package to sed this on $SOURCE/src/man.conf.in file would solve the problem.

I see now that man requires a rebuild on stable/testing due to a recent groff update. The rebuild is in progress.
